Hottop Coffee Roaster

KN-8828P-2K - KN-8828B-2K - KN-8828B-2K+
Compare our current models

Currently, Hottop features three coffee roasters the KN-8828B-2K, the KN-8828P-2K, and the KN-8828B-2K+. Structurally, they are the same appliance. The drum, motors, framework, filters, and most of the electronics are exactly the same parts. The difference between the three models is the design of the control panel and the operation of the user interface and how that interface controls the roaster. We offer this page in order to help you understand the similarities and differences between the models so that you can purchase the roaster that best meets your needs.

Design Concept
Roast beans by time - User has a full control over total roast time, target roasting temperature to end, fan speed, and heater power. These can be easily changed during the roast. The combination of variables that are subject to programming changes are virtually infinite (User should have knowledge of the roasting process to know when to change fan speed and/or heater power in order to control the roast for best results). Roast beans by temperature - A Program consists of eight segments. Each segment consists of an amount of time, temperature, and fan speed. User predetermines these parameters for each segment and machine will control the temperature. User has a full control of segments when programming the roast, but only can change Target Temperature of each segment once the roast begins. Dynamic Roasting Control
The user can change target time, target temperature, fan speed, and heater power at any time during the roast. Only the target temperature for the active segment can be modified after the roast is started. Binary heat control. The user can change target time, target temperature, fan speed, and heater power at any time during the roast.
Profile
Adjusted profile can be saved at the end of the roast and played back Saved profile can be recalled, modified, and replayed Adjusted profile can be saved at the end of the roast and played back
End of Roast
The roast can be stopped and the beans ejected at any time the user chooses with the press of one button.
Display and User Interface
LED Large LCD Advanced LED with wide viewing angle, high contrast, and full roast data displayed in real time
Function Controls
Push buttons are used to select and control all functions Push buttons are used to select and control all functions Three push buttons for starting and stopping roasts and approving changes, Four bi-directional, infinite-rotation speed-sensitive knobs for easy and fast parameter changes during the roast (fan speed, temperature control, target temperature, and target time).
Roast Temperature Monitoring
One K-thermocouple One K thermocouple Two K thermocouple for separate bean temperature (BT) and environmental temperature (ET) for real-time monitoring. Both temperatures are displayed on the LED screen throughout the roast.
USB Port
No No Bi-directional USB port supports third party software for real-time monitoring and graphing of roasts as well as for computer control of the roaster (software links HERE).
